GAME BASED LEARNING
Games are among the most powerful tools for teaching. So why don't we use them more often? Game Based Learning approach is not new but it has gained popularity after the Pandemic. Online teaching have forced teachers to use digital tools for planning, teaching, giving feedback and even for evaluating. It is quite challenging to engage students to online classes. The methods used in traditional classes don't work for Remote Teaching. So the teachers have gone under radical changes in teaching. Game Based Learning and Gamification have been ideal during this period. Are games really so powerful? We think; "YES". Games are motivating and remove the barriers in learning. Even the most reluctant students like games and this pushes teachers to adopt Game Based Learning.
Games are useful, motivating and leads to permanent learning but must be controlled carefully. They can cause students to lose concentration easily. eSafety is another issue to consider beforehand.
